Leur première rencontre a lieu avec le split Aeon Odyssey et l'osmose entre les deux ne se fait pas que sur le titre : chacun fait une cover de l'autre, chacun écrit les paroles pour une chanson de l'autre et y participe avec le chant par la même occasion. Si on n'a ici que la partie de Dis Pater, on a de quoi passer une trentaine de minutes de plaisir total. Indispensable ! Favorite track: The Tempest Entranced.

The Great Filter est une des très rares exceptions puisque le duo australien utilise le morse au début et à la fin du morceau et ce n'est sûrement pas à nous que ce code est destiné. The Great Filter, c'est une bouteille à la mer — ou à la Voie Lactée — qui permet à Mesarthim de montrer à d'éventuelles formes de vie ce que l'humanité sait faire de mieux : c'est une œuvre épique, plus rapide et agressive, avec un sens du spectacle et du sublime !
